Jaco is an exceptional naturalist, I thought i was traveling with a walking encyclopedia. I would not hesitate a second to use his guide services again. African trip of a lifetime.

My dad and I spent two weeks traveling in Botswana and Zimbabwe on safari with Jaco as our guide. He has extensive knowledge of the animals, plants, land and culture. We always felt comfortable under his guidance. Jaco always had a positive attitude and made sure his guest had a great time. We plan on returning to Africa and definitely will choose Jaco as our guide.

Jaco was my guide on a recent Zimbabwe & Botswana tour I was on as a solo traveller. Jaco really took time to get to know all of us and by doing so was able to create a culture that was welcoming, fun and inclusive for all. Jaco is organised, prepared and calm under pressure. The passion he has for wildlife, travel, and photography shines through, with him sharing knowledge, stories, and tips with everyone. He really should write a book about his experiences! Jaco is great fun to be around and provided a QUALITY experience!

I recently completed an African adventure with my husband and our family of young adults through Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

Our unforgettable activities ranged from thrilling safaris and cultural experiences to exploring both sides of Victoria Falls. Jaco was professional and attentive, ensuring our interests were met throughout the trip.

His deep knowledge of Africa and its flora and fauna added depth to our experience. We began the trip with a guide and ended it with a new friend.

Everyone we encountered greatly respected Jaco, and his passion for sharing Africa’s wonders is infectious. I would undoubtedly plan future travels with him again and recommend anyone considering an African adventure do the same.

Jaco could not make it any easier. Ask him to plan an adventure, and he will deliver beyond expectations.

In one sentence: Jaco is the best thing we’ve done in planning our trip! Our close friends met him during their National Geographic trip to Africa as their guide and they loved him. As he mentioned to them that he does private tours as well, they recommended that we contact him directly and see if we can have a truly customized trip planned for us. We did, our list was looong and budget limited.

Jaco read all our emails carefully, paid attention to every detail and did all in his power to fulfill every wish while avoiding all we wanted to avoid. We were ready to settle for some compromises, but he pulled all strings and delivered nearly 4 weeks of a perfect African experience for us.

He didn’t think we should be spending too much time traveling so decided that we only go to Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa. At the last moment he also added a walking safari in the close by Zambia, where we actually walked to about 15 meters from 3 (!) critically endangered white rhinos!

One day he grabbed us at the siesta hours between morning and evening safari, nearly shouting that there is a leopard sighting nearby and we have to go NOW! We saw a pair of the most beautiful lions mating calmly no more than 10 meters in front of us.

Family of maybe 100 elephants walking all around us like we didn’t exist; we could’ve reached and touched them (of course we didn’t), that’s how close they were! Within the first 2 days we saw all the Big Five and that was just the beginning.

During the trip we saw more than many other people we met on the way and compared our experiences with (ALL of them took Jaco’s contact for their next trip!) Jaco knows everyone.

Everywhere we went, from lodges, trackers, guides, all the way to local airports, we heard “hey, Jaco”, shaking hands, did quick catch-up and got us the VIP treatment whenever possible. So once again, Jaco is the best thing that anyone can do in planning a trip to Africa. Thank you, Jaco!

We met Jaco Beukman, quite by happenstance; he was our final guide for another company’s tour we were on. He met us at our hotel in Victoria Falls, where he laid out our itinerary both thoroughly and concisely (just a couple of his trademarks). As we all continued our time to get to know one another, it became clear this was going to be more than just a tour guide – tourist relationship; friendship was developing.

We soon got to know, see with our own eyes, and understand the wealth and depth of Jaco’s knowledge and talents. An accomplished artist and acclaimed photographer, Jaco inspired us to do more, to see more, to experience more than just what nature offers. He is constantly teaching – educating his clients, enriching their already rich experience.

Jaco guided us on, around and over the Chobe River, giving us just an incredible experience and interaction with so many species of birds, reptiles, and mammals. I particularly loved the elephants, as they played in the river in the late afternoon. We were on a photography boat, where everyone had to be shooting. Even my non-camera wife loved the experience (took some great photos as well).

We ended our tour on the Okavango Delta and had perhaps some of the most incredible big cat experiences of the trip, as Jaco and the other guides were able to locate a pride of all female lions: mother and three different generations of daughters. Totally enthralling. And then they spotted a very young leopard cub, without a mother. We just sat and observed for twenty minutes. Simply incredible.

We were heading back to leave our final tour and head home, when the radio crackled to life and as if in answer to our prayers, a pair of male lines – probably siblings – were spotted and off we rolled, in hopes of one last visual. WE caught up with them and were awed by their casualness and freedom to move about. They literally shoes to settle in about fifty feet from where we were parked and gave us a show to remember; handsome beasts.
By the time we were finishing up our time together, it was clear we would stay in touch. Knowing that Jaco wanted to start his own touring business was fantastic news. We even encouraged some of our friends, who were thinking about doing a similar trip, to reach out to Jaco. They only returned home in the past few months, thoroughly excited about their experiences and new-found friend, Jaco Beukman.

My wife and I, initially upon our return, lamented the fact that it was just too far to get to Southern Africa from San Francisco (two twelve-hour flights) If we are ever able to make this long journey, it will be because of Jaco. Give him a chance and you too will find you have a new friend for life…
